June marks the official start of summer, but not even a little extra heat can slow down the teams at The Control Group. Last month, we pushed new code, began new campaigns, released updates to our highly rated apps, and improved our product sites.
And in the middle of all those big moves, we wanted to send a special shout-out to a few people who went above above and beyond the call of duty. Check out this month’s nominations for People Who Rock. Want to nominate someone from your team to be featured in next month’s blog? Send a quick blurb to Human Resources!

Since moving over to the NextGen Leads team, Leian has done a tremendous job of adding value wherever he has been able. Aside from helping build out our Docker and Kubernetes infrastructure, Leian has most recently taken ownership of the SEO sites for our Health Insurance and Medicare funnels, utilizing Voyager to build clean and beautiful content sites to help generate free leads via SEO. Not only has Leian made an immediate impact on the business side of NextGen Leads, but he's also a pleasure to work with and energizes the team with his passion for all things dev.

I’m nominating Jeff Bue for being the backbone of Team SEO (a fact you can take to the bank).
In a business sense, he's responsible for coding the most successful portion of Instant Checkmate. Our People Directory has seen explosive growth over the last year, and that's in large part to Jeff taking on any and all tasks thrown at him. Jeff never says, "We can't do that." He takes on challenges. He gets it done no matter what.
On a personal level, he's a blast to work with and makes coming to work ... not feel like coming to work. Jeff is an easy developer to work with, and he’s incredibly hardworking, which I think is a testament to his previous life as a sergeant for the U.S. Marines. He brings the same mentality to work, and it's awesome to see it rub off on fellow employees.
He's a creative dude, too. If you don't believe me, just check out SpiritualDirt.com. And if you're wondering … yes, it actually works.
Out of all the people I met in the first month of working at The Control Group, I would not have imagined we'd end up being such good friends and working so well with each other. It's guys like Jeff that keep TCG moving forward and the bonus cash rolling in. I can't imagine there are many developers out there in the tech world responsible for growing organic traffic at levels like Jeff has. I'm lucky to work with the guy.
